All the 18 towns of Karachi celebrated 62nd Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and fervor holding flag-hoisting and other ceremonies at different places on Friday. The ceremonies were organized by the administration of 18 towns besides political and social organizations.
Shah Faisal Town Administration held the ceremony at the lawns of office of the Nazim, where caretaker Nazim Irtaza Faruqui hoisted the national flag. The UC Nazims, councilors, officers and citizens attended the ceremony. Izharuddin Ahmed Khan, Nazim of SITE Town hoisted the national flag at his office premises at 8.00a.m. The school children on this occasion presented national songs. Naib Nazim Syed Badshah Khan, UC Nazims and Councilors were present. Similar ceremony was held by Korangi town administration where Town Nazim Muhammad Arif Khan advocated hoisted the national flag. Other towns also organized the ceremonies.
