CDGK HEALTH DEPARTMENT PERFORM TOWN-WISE FUMIGATION

Health Department of City District Government Karachi was carrying out town wise fumigation during which spray teams performed insecticide spray in Jamshed Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Saddar Town and Lyari Town.

More than 30 spray machines and manpower were used in the campaign carried out in residential as well as commercial areas and public gathering points.
Spray teams will perform fumigation in SITE Town on Monday.

CASH AWARDS FOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES DRIVERS OF KARACHI CITY GOVT

DCO Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that in order to encourage the government officials on good performance and to motivate others to improve their working, a reward-and- punishment mechanism has been established in City District Government Karachi.

He expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of distribution of Rs1000 cash award to 15 municipal services drivers who had performed their duty outstandingly during the cleaning of Mehmoodabad Nallah.

EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam was also present on this occasion.

DCO Karachi said that city government had earlier given cash awards to those officials who had performed well in the polio eradication campaign and now these drivers are given awards for their good work.

He said that the areas of Nursery, PECHS Block-6, Admin Society, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony and other adjoining areas were in past affected due to accumulation of rain water in during monsoon and the residents of these areas had to suffer huge loss of property and human lives. However, he said this year city government has besides full cleaning of Mehmoodabad Nullah also completely cleaned all of its small and big arteries while the encroachments on this nallah have also been removed.

He expressed hope that all these areas would no more affect in future even during torrential rains.

DCO Karachi praised the municipal services staff especially drivers who had worked with full dedication during the cleaning and transfer of garbage.

He said that he had also paid unscheduled visit many times and seen these officials working on the cleaning of nallah.

DCO Karachi said that as an acknowledgement of their service to city and the citizens this process of encouragement of officials on putting up best work will continue in future as well.

Income Tax Bar Elections: Anwar Kashif Mumtaz elected as President, Rehan Siddiqui as Gen Secretary for 2011

Anwar Kashif Mumtaz and Muhammad Rehan Siddiqui have been elected un-opposed as President and General Secretary of Income Tax Bar Association of Karachi (ITBAK) for the term 2011. In the 54th Annual General Body Meeting of ITBAK held at the Income Tax Bar Association's premises wherein Muhammad Zubair elected un-opposed as Vice President, while Abid Husain Shaban, Syed Waseem Hashmi, Abdul Qadir Memon, Khalid Mahmood, Muhammad Arshad, Saulat Bari Khan and Syed Rehan Hasan Jafri were elected as members managing committee. The newly elected President, Anwar Mumtaz Kashif while addressing the general body of the association paid glowing tributes to the outgoing office bearers and ITBAK members and assured the association members to continue with the efforts of the outgoing body.
The Secretary General, Rehan Siddiqui addressing to the audience said that new taxes imposed by the government would adversely affect the trade and industry and the general public. He advised the government not to over-burden the industry with additional taxes but try to plug the pilferages in revenue.

KCCI & ANKARA CHAMBER TO SIGN PROTOCOL OF COOPERATION TO CEMENT BILATERAL TRADE TIES

Muhammad Saeed Shafiq, President-KCCI, in an interactive session with Nurettin Ozdebir, President, Ankara Chamber of Industry at Ankara stressed upon the need of regular interaction, exchange of trade information and delegations. Saeed Shafiq articulated that Pakistan and Turkey were two brotherly countries with relationship encompassed over decades, however, the bilateral trade was not aligned with the existing potential. Saeed Shafiq asserted for constant cooperation between KCCI and Turkish Chambers and proposed for signing of protocol of cooperation between KCCI and Ankara Chamber of Industry.

Nurettin Ozdebir, President, Ankara Chamber of Industry, appreciated the initiative of Saeed Shafiq, President-KCCI for visiting Turkey with high power business delegation. Ozdebir also expressed interest and consent for signing a protocol of cooperation to ensure maximum cooperation and coordination to further develop economic and commercial ties with KCCI. Ozdebir informed that Ankara Chamber of Commerce was working actively and closely with its partner chambers to develop bilateral relations with a target to foster and facilitate economic and commercial ties with companies of two countries. For this purpose, we were trying to create new models of cooperation such as countertrade, partnership for building industrial zones etc., he added.

Muhammad Saeed Shafiq, President-KCCI and Nurettin Ozdebir, President, Ankara Chamber of Industry ensured each other for effective inter-chamber liaison to achieve the desired objectives.
